Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Elly Banner.
Splinter was slow to begin.
Rhomboid and Cody's Success collided soon after the start. Elly Banner crossed to the outside and visibly eased soon after the start colliding with Inter Joe, Kaylin, Rhomboid and Cody's Success. Elly Banner visibly eased and turned its head outwards colliding with Kaylin at the 300m mark and visibily eased again at the 250m mark. Rurik and Cody's Success collided at the 250m mark severely checking Rurik which tailed off as a result. Rhomboid and Cody's Success collided at the 200m mark. Elly Banner and Kaylin collided at the 100m mark. Cody's Success checked off Rhomboid approaching the 50m mark.
Rurick underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right monkey muscle and right stopper. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Elly Banner underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the Cervico-Thoracic and both wrists. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Sutcliffe, the trainer of Elly Banner regarding the greyhounds racing manners in this event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Elly Banner was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Sutcliffe pleaded guilty to the charge, Elly Banner is suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
