Apollo Gift, What Feeling and Off An' Gone was slow to begin. 

Aston Malibu and Pamma collided soon after the start. Apollo Gift crossed out soon after the start, checking What Feeling. Rusty Yaala and Federal Estate collided at the 250m mark and again at the 150m mark, checking Rusty Yaala which collided with Apollo Gift and Barunga Bullet as a result. Barunga Bullet checked off Federal Estate approaching the 100m mark and collided with Rusty Yaala. Apollo Gift and Aston Malibu collided at the 100m mark, checking Apollo Gift. 

Heavy Fuel – New declared weight of 37.5kgs, last raced at 36.2kgs.

Rockin' Rosco was slow to begin. 

Global Gem and As Only Is collided at 250m mark, checking Heavy Fuel. Heavy Fuel and Further Dreamer collided at the 250m mark. Alter Ego and Rival Prince collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark, checking Alter Ego. Further Dreamer checked off Heavy Fuel at the 150m mark. Alter Ego crossed to the outside approaching the 100m mark. Rockin' Rosco and Rival Prince collided several times approaching the 100m mark. Banyuatis crossed out approaching the 50m mark, checking Heavy Fuel and Global Gem. Rockin' Rosco and Rival Princecollided approaching the winning post.

Pursuant to GAR 104 (7) Steward Ms Demi Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.

Xalynn Bale and Valstrepo collided soon after the start. Sprite Halo and Queen Lita collided soon after the start, checking Sprite Halo. Professor Gold and Xalynn Bale collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark, checking Professor Gold which collided with Sprite Halo, both greyhounds were checked as a result. Professor Gold faltered approaching the 150m mark. 

Professor Gold underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Emerley Express was slow to begin. 

Tiki Monteya and Spring Nugget collided soon after the start. Tiki Monteya checked off Spring Nugget at the 150m mark.

Kadalex Kid checked off Tommy Time soon after the start. Kadalex Kid and Zanthre Allen crossed to the outside soon after the start. Kadalex Kid, Zanthre Allen and Fifty Dollar collided at the 300m mark, checking Kadalex Kid. Zanthre Allen and Fifty Dollar collided at the 250m mark. 

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Ian Rilen after he had been engaged to retrieve Zanthre Allen from the kennels for this event and subsequently failed to do so by the appointed kenneling time.

Bugs Baloney and North Wind collided soon after the start. Shelbourne Star and Superior Sam collided soon after the start. Bugs Baloney checked off North Wind at the 300m mark. Bugs Baloney and Mumma's Bear collided at the 275m mark. Shelbourne Star and North Wind collided at the 275m mark,checking Superior Sam. Shelbourne Star and North Wind collided at the 225m mark and again at the 200m mark. Bugs Baloney and Mumma's Bear collided at the 175m mark.

North Wind underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind paw. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Jack Whelan and Inter Mimi collided soon after the start. Moyarra Eclipse crossed to the rails soon after the start, checking Zipping Navy and Zipping Caesar. Jack Whelan and Inter Mimi collided at the 150m mark. Zipping Caesar checked off Zipping Benny at the 150m mark. Inter Mimi checked off Jack Whelan at the 150m mark. 

Zipping Caesar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right hock. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Time To Talk was quick to begin.Dyna Hunter, Zipping Mack and Peter Galo were slow to begin.

Fernando Drums and Time To Talk collided at the 300m mark. Chief's Empire and Myrniong And All collided at the 300m mark, checking Chief's Empire. Nervous An Weird and Time To Talk collided at the 100m mark. Peter Galo crossed to the rails at the 100m mark, causing Nervous An Weird to check off Peter Galo; Nervous An Weird collided with Time To Talk as a result, checking Nervous An Weird. 

Mr Jake Collins failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Dyna Hunter for racing.  Mr Collins was issued a warning pursuant to GAR 46 (2)

A post-race sample was taken from Myrniong And All - placed second in the event.

Following race 9, as a result of information received Stewards spoke to Mr Garry Selkrig, the trainer of Peter Galo. As a result of this conversation Stewards conducted a search of Mr Selkrig's vehicle in his presence. As a result of the search Stewards advised Mr Selkrig that no further action will be taken regarding the matter at this time.

Croucher was slow to begin.

Ninetymile Donny crossed to the outside at the 150mtr mark.

Nalani and Calcaneal collided soon after the start. Nalani, Calcaneal and Know Success collided several times from the 300m mark to the 250m mark.

Shirdale Tom checked off Elusive Anake at the 250m mark, checking Cullquin Panda. Murrabit Benny checked off Elusive Anake at the 50m mark. 

She's My Blast was a late scratching at 10.38am with permission of stewards due to Mr Brian Knight's personal circumstances. No penalty was imposed. 

Superior Primo and Fruit Frames collided soon after the start. Destini Exactor, Superior Primo and Fruit Frames collided at the 250m mark. Just Talking crossed in at the 200m mark, checking Luka's Choice, Superior Primo and Fruit Frames. Destini Exactor and Fruit Frames collided at the 75m mark.

EXHIBITION TRIAL RESULTS:

Dusty's Charlie - Performed an exhibition trial over 350m from box 5, weighing 33.9kgs. Dusty's Charlie failed to complete the trail. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Peter Furbank regarding the performance of Dusty's Charlie in the trail. Mr Furbank advised stewards that he will be trialling the greyhound at the upcoming Healesville trial session on Wednesday, 14 August, 2019. Stewards will follow up on the trail performance and advise the public of the outcome via the GRV website. The decision to run the greyhound in the National Straight Track Championship on Sunday 18 August, 2019 will be made in the best interest of greyhound racing and subsequent to the outcome of the trial, pursuant to GAR 20(4)(b).

Supplementary Report :Monday 12 August 2019

Dusty’s Charlie underwent a post-race veterinary examination on 12/8/2019 and was found to have  right shoulder soreness  a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Peter Fairbank,  regarding the greyhounds racing manners throughout the entire Exhibition Trial.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Dusty’s Charlie was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Fairbank  pleaded guilty to the charge, Dusty’s Charlie was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Fantastic Axel - Performed an exhibition trial over 350m  from box 4, weighing 30.4kgs in a time of 19.45.

Hollow Words - Performed an exhibition trial over 350m from box 5, weighing 34.1kgs in a time of 19.87.

Start A Riot – In accordance with GAR 73, presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Sandown on 9 August, 2019. Start A Riot was examined by the on-track veterinarian and found to not be free from injury. Start A Riot was not cleared to race. 

Stewards conducted a box draw for the National Straight Track Championship to be held on 18 August, 2019. The official box draw is as follows:
