A sample was taken from Destini Cheetah upon arrival at the course.
Spring Hummer was slow to begin. Dyna Drew went up with the lids and was slow to begin.
Iceni Crusader and Fabelite collided soon after the start, checking Fabelite. Kraken Witch, Spring Hummer and Fast Trapper collided on the first turn, checking Fast Trapper and Iceni Crusader. Dyna Drew, Iceni Crusader, Fabelite and Destini Cheetah collided on the first turn, checking Destini Cheetah and Iceni Crusader, severely checking Fabelite; causing Dyna Drew to fall. Iceni Crusader and Fabelite raced wide in the home straight.
Dyna Drew underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg hip injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
Fabelite underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
