Wise Lewis and Riley's Paige were slow to begin.
Dyna Alia, Wise Lewis and Mepunga Daniel collided soon after the start checking Wise Lewis. Wise Lewis and Rock It Fernando collided soon after the start. Vital Force, Mepunga Daniel and Dyna Helena collided on the first turn. Dyna Alia, Mepunga Daniel, Wise Lewis, Rock It Fernando and Riley's Paige collided entering the back straight. Dyna Alia checked off Mepunga Daniel in the back straight. Rock It Fernando checked off Dyna Alia approaching the home turn. Dyna Alia checked off Mepunga Daniel on the home turn. Dyna Helena faltered in the home straight. Dyna Alia and Dyna Helena collided approaching the winning post.
Dyna Helena underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. It was also noted following the event that the paw of Dyna Helena became entangled in the muzzle of Dyna Alia on pulling up in the catching pen.
