Daytona Icon, Maybe Hostile and Staggermite were slow to begin.
Maybe Hostile and Staggermite collided at the 300m mark checking Maybe Hostile and Daytona Icon. Daytona Icon and Maybe Hostile crossed to the outside approaching the 250m mark. Hostile Intent galloped on Nellie Briggs at the 250m mark severely checking both greyhounds. Daytona Icon checked off Hostile Intent approaching the 200m mark. Staggermite turned its head to the outside approaching the 200m mark checking Nellie Briggs. Nellie Briggs faltered at the 150m mark. Conkacoin Staggermite collided at the 100m mark checking Conkacoin. Staggermite turned its head to the inside approaching the 50m mark. Conkacoin and Staggerimite collided at the 50m mark.
Staggermite underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist injury and thumps, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Garry Selkrig, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 200m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Staggermite was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Selkrig pleaded guilty to the charge, Staggermite must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Nellie Briggs underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both wrists and a minor right hind toe abrasion. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
