Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from What Feeling on 9 May 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Rapid Hennessy – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing following a change in kennels.
What Feeling and Rapid Hennessy were slow to begin.
Elite Eagle and What Feeling collided soon after the start. Miss Cheekiness and Silver Sultan collided soon after the start. Sayonara Sweetie and Elite Eagle collided at the 250m mark. Elite Eagle checked off Got Some Zip at the 250m mark. Elite Eagle and Silver Sultan collided at the 200m mark. Silver Sultan crossed in at the 200m mark. Got Some Zip and Miss Cheekiness collided several times from the 100m mark to the 50m mark. Elite Eagle eased approaching the 50m mark and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment checking Miss Cheekiness, Got Some Zip and Sayonara Sweetie. Got Some Zip checked off Miss Cheekiness at the 50m mark.
Elite Eagle underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the left shoulder. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr S. Condon the owner, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Elite Eagle was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Condon pleaded guilty to the charge, Elite Eagle must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Miss Cheekiness underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have pad injury on the left foreleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
