This race was delayed by approximately 1 minute 30 seconds to allow debris to be removed from the back straight.

Ray Shoesmith and Rough Surface were slow to begin. Oriental Tiger, Slingshot Liam and Rough Surface collided approaching the first turn checking Rough Surface. David's Way and Wayne's Way collided approaching the first turn. Rough Surface and Ray Shoesmith collided on the first turn. Sheza Code Blue and Sayonara Sweetie collided approaching the home turn. David's Way galloped on the heels of Oriental Tiger on the home turn checking David's Way. Ray Shoesmith clipped the heels of Rough Surface entering the home straight. Sayonara Sweetie and Oriental Tiger collided approaching the winning post.

Sayonara Sweetie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Jones, the trainer of Sayonara Sweetie and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.

Stewards conducted a check of catcher’s licences in accordance with LR 16.2. All were compliant.

Hala Aussie was slow to begin. Resounding, Reiko Opal and Play Along collided soon after the start checking Reiko Opal. Hala Aussie and Resounding collided approaching the first turn checking Resounding. Resounding contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and lost ground. Dundas Houdini and Play Along collided in the home straight

Resounding underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the medial stifle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

My Mascara, Gazza's Pick, Gypsy Shane and Scott Something were slow to begin. Bashful Boy and Scott Something collided approaching the first turn checking Scott Something. My Mascara and Tennyson Girl collided on the first turn checking Tennyson Girl.

Dyna Kerro underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was suspected to have pannus on both eyes. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 74(3) Dyna Kerro must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) and receive a veterinary clearance before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mo Daniher and Lil Black Jess were slow to begin. Tuesday's Grace and Serendipity Man collided soon after the start checking Serendipity Man. Mo Daniher and Lil Black Jess collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn checking Lil Black Jess. More Donuts and Tuesday's Grace collided on the second turn. Serendipity Man faltered entering the home straight and lost ground.

Serendipity Man underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right back muscle and right triangle. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Lil Black Jess underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist sprain and an abrasion to the left fore foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Kid Lavros was slow to begin. Positive Gearing, Blue Addition, Cool Rage and Dancin' In collided soon after the start checking Positive Gearing and Blue Addition. Groucho – Late scratching at 10:01am when trainer Ms Belinda Glen reported the greyhound to have a injured front left pad (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Seminole Wind was slow to begin. Quicksilver Hope and Bletchley collided approaching the first turn. Batik Print and Manifold collided on the home turn. Bletchley, Shining Opal and Quicksilver raced wide in the home straight.

Meeting Comments:

Stewards held an inquiry into the transportation used to convey Shining Opal to Bendigo today. Evidence was taken from Shining Opals’ trainer Mr Brent Merton and Racing Steward Mr Ian Taylor. Mr Merton accepted that the transport used by him today failed to comply with the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy. The compliance issue was that a single door was not securely fixed to the frame of the trailer. Stewards noted Mr Merton’s forthright admissions and of importance, that the greyhound was not transported in the compartment (it was a 4 berth trailer) that was faulty. The Stewards issued Mr Mertons with an official warning and ordered that he fix the trailer to the required standards of the Transportation of Greyhounds Policy, before using this vehicle again. Failing to correct the issue will result in more punitive sanctions.
