Steward's Report

Stewards spoke to Mr.C.Treherne, the trainer of One Step Ahead regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Big Dance last raced on 22 September 2018.  Mr.Treherne stated that the greyhound was resuming from a right hock injury.  Mr.Treherne also declared a new weight of 28.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). One Step Ahead last raced at 26.9kg.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 31.7 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 20.3 degrees.

A pre race sample was taken from One Step Ahead.

Aloutte Jack was slow to begin.

Aloutte Jack and Dewana Interest collided at the 100m mark.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Stewards spoke with Mr.G.Laidlay following an incident during kennelling with the club veterinarian Dr N.Evans. Mr Laidlay stated that he overreacted when the greyhound become unbalanced while going over the vet table and was apologetic for his actions. Stewards noted that Mr.Laidlay had had no such instances of this conduct over a long period of time and as such reminded him of his responsibilities when dealing with a member of the controlling body.
