Steward's Report
Almendra was a late scratching at 11.08am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a spike wound. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr.W.Bocquet, the trainer of Shellbrook regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Shellbrook last raced on 5 October 2018. Mr.Bocquet stated that the greyhound was resuming from a seasonal spell and change of kennel.
Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Formosa, the representative of Doran's Call regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Doran's Call last raced on 29 September 2018. Mr.Formosa stated that the greyhound was resuming from a left wrist injury.
A pre race sample was taken from Doran's Call.
Crackerjack Mick was slow to begin.
Doran's Call and Shellbrook collided at the 250m checking Crackerjack Mick and Doran's Call. Yenderra Blue, Doran's Call and Shellbrook collided approaching the 200m mark checking Doran's Call and Shellbrook. Shellbrook stumbled approaching the 150m mark and lost ground. Shellbrook, Doran's Call and Aston Boss collided approaching the 150m mark checking Shellbrook and Aston Boss causing Aston Boss to lose ground.
Aston Boss was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasion to the right hindleg, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Shellbrook was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
