This race meeting was deemed hot weather affected.

When Stewards arrived on course the outside temperature was 34.5 degrees - the kennel temperature was 19.4 degrees.  At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 28.8 degrees - the kennel temperature was 20 degrees.  Prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was recorded as 28.3 degrees. The kennel temperature was recorded as 20 degrees.

Virage De Kahn was a late scratching at 9:51am after the trainer Mr I. Dann became aware that the greyhound had not been scratched.  Mr Dann stated that he attempted to scratch the greyhound this morning however this was not recognised by Fasttrack.  Mr Dann provided appropriate evidence to Stewards and as such no penalties were issued.

On Degoey was slow to begin.

Got No Issues and Emma's Blue Wren collided approaching the first turn checking Emma's Blue Wren.  My Girl Chezza and Got No Issues collided on the first turn checking My Girl Chezza, Got No Issues and Emma's Blue Wren.

Pandora Charm was a late scratching at 5:34pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr C. Constantinou was fined the sum of $100.

Dirty Stella was quick to begin.  Roulette Blues was slow to begin.

Abstract Miss checked off Dirty Stella soon after the start.  Forest Lodge clipped the heels of Muza's Bella on the first turn checking both greyhounds; Dirty Stella was checked as a result.  Abstract Miss checked off Forest Lodge approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.  Abstract Miss and Forest Lodge collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds. 

Stewards spoke to Mr S. Jack regarding the improved performance of Taking Off.  Mr Jack stated that the greyhound had his first uninterrupted run tonight and appreciated the wider draw.  Stewards noted his explanation and directed a sample to be taken from Taking Off - the winner of the event.

Parumba Ned was quick to begin.  Party Muscles was slow to begin.

Santana checked off Testa Girl soon after the start.  Testa Girl and Parumba Ned collided on the first turn checking Parumba Ned and causing both greyhounds to race wide.

Galo's Best and Early Spring were quick to begin.  Midnight Muscat and Tinker Bess were slow to begin.

Tinker Bess stumbled soon after the start.  Alonso Power and Galo's Best collided entering the home straight.  Midnight Muscat and Early Storm collided entering the home straight.  Galo's Best checked off Alonso Power approaching the winning post.

Blondie Locks was quick to begin.  Bombardier King was slow to begin.

Bombardier King galloped on Silver Dollar on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Sweet Gabriella galloped on Horus Blue on second turn checking both greyhounds.  Bombardier King checked off Silver Dollar approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Gappy Hilmore.

Prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was recorded as 25.6 degrees. The kennel temperature was recorded as 19.6 degrees.  Stewards dispersed with the hot weather policy due to the drop in temperature.

Early Express was slow to begin.

Gappy Hilmore, Harper's Hand, Indira's Girl and Lord Davinci collided approaching the first turn checking Harper's Hand and Indira's Girl.  Gappy Hilmore checked off Lord Davinci on the first turn causing Harper's Hand to race wide.  Early Express checked off Harper's Hand approaching the home turn checking Tuiaki Dora as a result.  Gappy Hilmore and Violets Are Red collided entering the home straight.  

Indira's Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind paw, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Master J. Dean the handler and Mrs D. Dean the trainer of Harper's Hand regarding the difficulty in boxing the greyhound for this event.  Mrs Dean stated that Master J. Dean was handling the greyhound for the first time under race conditions and would continue to gain experience.  Stewards accepted Mrs Deans' explanation and took no further action. 

King Of Diamonds, Joni Sunset and Primrose Diamond were slow to begin.

King Of Diamonds raced wide approaching the home turn and lost ground.

King Of Diamonds was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found

Conjurer was slow to begin.

Boone crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Lady Bang Bang.  Master Rico and Whiney Whine collided on the first turn.  Conjurer checked off Master Rico on the second turn.

Zipping Navy was quick to begin.  Dewana Rocket was slow to begin.

George Knockin', She Got Fire, Dewana Rocket and Dirty Boston collided soon after the start checking Dewana Rocket.  George Knockin' checked off Zipping Navy approaching the first turn.  George Knockin' crossed to the outside approaching the home turn checking She Got Fire, Dewana Rocket and Dirty Boston.  George Knockin' eased approaching the winning post.

George Knockin' was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 12, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms N. Lund, the trainer of the greyhound George Knockin' regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged George Knockin' with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Lund pleaded guilty to the charge, George Knockin'  was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr D. Schwarz, trainer of Galloping Nikki declared a new weight of 24.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Galloping Nikki last raced at 25.5kg.

Galloping Nikki was quick to begin.

Roger That checked off Zipping Dale soon after the start.  Aunty Chris crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Aeroplane Bella.  Aunty Chris crossed to the outside on the home turn checking Pacific Coast.  Roger That checked off Pacific Coast on the home turn.  Aeroplane Bella checked off Gypsy Kiowa entering the home straight.

Jamie Marie was quick to begin.  Ragged Warrior and Silver Sky were slow to begin.

No Sugar lost ground approaching the first turn.  Silver Sky galloped on No Sugar on the first turn.  No Sugar and Silver Sky collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.  

No Sugar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right monkey muscle injury, a 21 day stand down period was imposed

Emerley Mee Too was quick to begin.  Galloping Wytee was slow to begin.

Silvagni Cubed and El Grand Richo collided approaching the first turn.  Emerley Mee Too raced wide on the home turn.
