Prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was recorded as 28.9 degrees. The kennel temperature was recorded as 19.8 degrees.
Scooby Boy and Cataleya were slow to begin.
Unexplainable and Scooby Boy collided soon after the start. Seeka Moment checked off Cullquin Bomber at the 250m mark. Scooby Boy and Hit 'N' Split collided at the 150m mark. Seeka Moment and Hit 'N' Split collided several times at the 50m mark and the winning post. Scooby Boy, Unexplainable and Cataleya collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to the starter, Mr M. Grima after the incorrect number (10) was displayed on the front of the starting boxes. Mr Grima was reminded of his responsibilities and asked to ensure all numbers are correctly displayed in future. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.
