In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected.  The outside temperature when kennels opened was 31.0 degrees, the inside kennel temperature was 18.1 degrees.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 30.7 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.8 degrees. Hawesome was a late scratching at 6.18pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Thordes Pakusch was fined the sum of $100.

Aston Akira and Spot The Ghost were quick to begin.

Kraken Hero and Level Neville were slow to begin.

Kraken Hero galloped on the heels of Plenty Of It on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Kraken Hero and Plenty Of It collided on the home turn. Kraken Hero and Plenty Of It collided entering the home straight.

This race was delayed by approximately 30 seconds due to ducks being removed from the track.

Kraken Courage and What Bill collided soon after the start checking Kraken Courage. Saucy Sav, What Bill, Briar Jet, Kraken Maxi and Kraken Courage collided approaching the first turn checking What Bill. All About Now and Saucy Sav collided on the first turn checking Saucy Sav which contacted the running rail. Briar Jet and Lonesome Sam collided on the first turn. Saucy Sav and All About Now collided approaching the home turn checking All About Now. Saucy Sav and What Bill collided entering the home straight and in the home straight.

Saucy Sav was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre-race sample was taken from All Revved Up.

All Revved Up, Kraken Tex and Jaggered Edge collided soon after the start. Jaggered Edge and Galway Icon collided approaching the first turn checking Galway Icon. Brave Hearted and Maximum Lara collided approaching the first turn. Kraken Tex and Galway Icon collided on the first turn checking Kraken Tex and severely checking Galway Icon. Jaggered Edge, You Jager and Brave Hearted collided entering the home straight. You Jager and Maximum Lara collided in the home straight.

Emgee Sprinter was slow to begin.

Joycee Rae, Bro Wizard and Tuscan Flex collided soon after the start checking Bro Wizard. Owen Money, Tuscan Flex and Xera Bale collided on the first turn checking Tuscan Flex. Zelemar Jim and Emgee Sprinter collided on the first turn. Zelemar Jim, Owen Money and Xera Bale collided approaching the second turn checking Xera Bale. Tuscan Flex and Xera Bale collided on the third turn checking Xera Bale. Emgee Sprinter tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Emgee Sprinter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the back and both trapeze muscles. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Kraken Mazing.

Dubai Prince and Klondike Gold collided soon after the start checking Klondike Gold. Kraken Mazing, Dyna Kerro and Bumper Farrell collided soon after the start checking Dyna Kerro. Dyna Kerro, Kraken Mazing and Lily The Weapon collided approaching the first turn. Dyna Kerro and Kraken Mazing collided on the first turn checking Kraken Mazing and Klondike Gold. Dyna Kerro clipped the heels of Dubai Prince approaching the home turn. Dubai Prince and Lily The Weapon collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Stewards issued a warning to Ms. B. Kinder, trainer of Dyna Kerro after failing to adhere to the starter's orders pursuant to GAR51(7).

Stewards dispensed the hot weather policy prior to this event as the temperature dropped below 26.0 degrees.

Wynonna Earp and Vintage Storm collided soon after the start. Soda Geoff and Flying Rose collided on the first turn checking Soda Geoff. Ryben Bill and Vintage Storm collided approaching the home turn. Soda Geoff and Flying Rose collided on the home turn.

Iceni Skye was quick to begin.

Markinch Maid was slow to begin.

Lucky Omar, Plumcad and Rhino Rex collided soon after the start checking Lucky Omar. Stylish Chief and Clovalley Mauri collided on the first turn checking Stylish Chief. Markinch Maid and Stylish Chief collided in the home straight.

Stlish Chief was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right fore toe. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Parade Steward Mr. G. Glass did not act in any official capacity for this event.

Kraken Jacki was quick to begin. Why Not Dean and Mia Amour were slow to begin. Janray Rastus, Horey's Prince and Luka's Choice collided approach the first turn. Mia Amour, Janray Rastus and All Inn Handles collided on the first turn checking All Inn Handles. Why Not Dean raced wide in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Fifteen Wheeler, winner of the event.

Gayle Lemin, trainer of Marlow's Angel declared a new weight of 33.6kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Marlow's Angel last raced at 32.3kg.

Marlow's Angel was quick to begin. Hit 'N' Split and Shaina Cabang collided approaching the first turn. Marlow's Angel and Shaina Cabang collided approaching the home turn checking Marlow's Angel which collided with Hit 'N' Split.

Launch Time and Tana's Angel collided approaching the first turn. Jack's On Deck, Tana's Angel, Launch Time and All Inn Youi collided on the first turn checking Tana's Angel. Kingsley Boy and Bushman's Billy collided approaching the home turn. Jack's On Deck and Launch Time collided approaching the home turn checking Jack's On Deck. All Inn Youi and Launch Time collided on the home turn. Tana's Angel and All Inn Youi collided entering the home straight. Qatar Girl and Launch Time collided in the home straight. All Inn Youi clipped the heels of Launch Time approaching the winning post.

Dark Origins was slow to begin. Clovalley Rang, Groucho and Scarlet Magic collided soon after the start checking Groucho. Clovalley Rang and Scarlet Magic collided approaching the first turn checking Clovalley Rang. Dark Origins and Scarlet Magic collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Connell regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Clovalley Rang. Stewards directed that Clovalley Rang be boxed first in future events.

Meeting Comments:-

Track Curator Mr. B. Groom advised stewards that the track was deeply harrowed on 20th February 2019.

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers vehicles engaged in todays event. Stewards were satisified that all trailers had adhered to the hot weather transport policy.

Satisfactory Whelping Trial Results - Bound Two Affair trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 26.7kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.59, the greyhound was beaten by by a margin of 9.75L. Bound Two Affair was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Golden Fernanda trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 24.4kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.59, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 4.25L. Golden Fernanda was Cleared.
