Steward's Report
Prince Ferno was a late scratching at 11:42am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Lindsay Fulford was fined the sum of $100.
Kuzma was slow to begin.
Deering Danae and Flossy Lee collided at the 300m mark. Deering Danae checked off Kuzma at the 200m mark. Flossy Lee and Lady Bang Bang collided approaching the 150m mark. Kuzma crossed out approaching the 150m mark, collided with Flossy Lee and eased, causing Flossy Lee, Lady Bang Bang and Racing Opal to collide, checking all three greyhounds. Kuzma and Flossy Lee collided approaching the 100m mark and again at the 50m mark, checking Kuzma. Kuzma galloped on Deering Danae at the 50m mark, checking both greyhounds. Racing Opal eased at the 50m mark.
Kuzma was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer, Ms Jessica Hopkins declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Ms Jessica Hopkins, the trainer of the greyhound Kuzma regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 150m mark.. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Kuzma with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Hopkins pleased guilty to the charge, Kuzma was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Racing Opal was vetted following race 10. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Representative, Mr Calven Russell declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr Calven Russell the representative for the greyhound Racing Opal regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Racing Opal with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.
