Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Starter Mr A Blake did not act in any official capacity for this event.
This meeting is deemed Hot Weather Affected. At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 31.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.6 degrees.
The outside temperature at race start time was 31.5 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 17.4 degrees.
Dusty Dior was quick to begin. Big Fat Goalie was slow to begin. Refueled and Oriental Tiger collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Refueled and Oriental Tiger collided several times on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Punch Out and Chill Out Isla collided approaching the home turnchecking Chill Out Isla. Refueled and Big Fat Goalie collided approaching the home turn. Pennyroyal Tee crossed to the outside on the home turn checking Punch Out. Punch Out and Pennyroyal Tee raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Big Fat Goalie raced wide on the home turn. Dusty Dior eased in the home straight. Classy Vanda crossed to the outside approaching the winning post
Stewards spoke to Miss Paris Borserio, the handler of the greyhound Dusty Dior regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home straight. Dusty Dior was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left shoulder and rightside pelvic, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dusty Dior with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Miss Paris Borserio pleaded guilty to the charge, Dusty Dior was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
