Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Malick.
Riverina Miss was quick to begin. Wolf Point was slow to begin. Swift Trent, Succession Plan, Loroupe, Malick and Luke Roman collided approaching the first turn, checking Succession Plan and Malick. Luke Roman checked off Loroupe approaching the home turn. Wolf Point checked off Luke Roman on the home turn. Loroupe raced wide on the home turn. Succession Plan, Luke Roman and Wolf Point collided on the home turn. Malick veered out and marred the running of Succession Plan on several occasions in the home straight. Riverina Miss tired over the concluding stages of the event.
Malick was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hind leg. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Joshua Formosa, the representative of the greyhound Malick regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Malick with marring. Mr. Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge. Malick was found guilty as charged and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. Joshua Formosa, the representative of Gunmetal Liam, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the finishing line.
