Steward's Report
Macs Model was a late scratching at 6:01pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to dehydration. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Wackadooka.
Movie Icon was quick to begin. Gin Lee's Pride and Wackadooka were slow to begin. Monkey Year, Sin And Spin and Short Leash collided soon after the start and again on the first turn. Gin Lee's Pride galloped on the heels of Short Leash on the first turn. Short Leash pulled up in the home straight.
Monkey Year was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right scapula fracture, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Short Leash was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shin, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr P. Smoor, Trainer, of the greyhound Short Leash. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Short Leash with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Smoor pleaded not guilty to the charge, Short Leash was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton Track and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
