Sopha Gem was slow to begin.  Akina Blitz and Ima Ghost Buster were very slow to begin (3 lengths).  I'm The Poppet and Hannah Bear collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Crossfire Icon was checked off Hannah Bear approaching the second turn.  Ima Ghost Buster was checked off Sopha Gem approaching the second turn and raced wide as a result.

Mr. D. Agius the trainer of Invictus Ester declared a new weight of 25.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Invictus Ester last raced at 27.9kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from What's Up Skip.

Good Old Days, Azure Dragon and It's Debatable were slow to begin.  Midnight Memphis crossed in approaching the first turn checking Invictus Ester, Good Old Days and Comets Gold and severely checking Lucy Gem and What's Up Skip.  Comets Gold raced wide in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cookie Rose.

Tooka Half was quick to begin.  Bigtime Bruce crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking El Diamonte and Surgical Wally and severely checking Backin' Bully.  Surgical Wally contacted the running rail entering the back straight.  Cookie Rose and El Diamonte collided on the second turn.  Backin' Bully shifted out on the home turn and collided with El Diamonte.

Backin' Bully was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the left hind toe, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Mustang Sammy was a late scratching at 10.29am due to injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Wild Angel.

Milla Rose was quick to begin.  Gotcha Mate was slow to begin.  Zipping Dash and Crickets Dash collided soon after the start.  Zipping Dash crossed to the outside approaching the first turn checking Crickets Dash and Eduardo Rose.  Gotcha Mate galloped on Zipping Dash approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Buzz Rash was quick to begin.  Akina Dee Jay was checked off Buzz Rash on the first turn.  Dr. Walter and Laurentide Ice collided on the first turn checking Laurentide Ice.  Vens Revenge and Akina Dee Jay collided on the third turn.  Buzz Rash and Fourth Dimention collided on the third turn.  Vens Revenge and Akina Dee Jay collided on the home turn.  Dr. Walter and Laurentide Ice collided entering the home straight.

Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. J. McMahon, the owner and Mr. A. Simmons the handler of Dr. Walter regarding the greyhound's box manners.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dr. Sherlock.

Dr. Sherlock was quick to begin.  Where's Lachie, Aston Tobin and Dr. Mortikye collided soon after the start.  Tobacco Leaf and Stella View collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn.  Where's Lachie and Aston Tobin collided approaching the first turn.  Stella View eased on the first turn checking Aton Tobin.  Dr. Sherlock and Lottie Glenda collided on the first turn.  Tobacco Leaf was checked off Ohana Sparkles approaching the second turn.  Aston Tobin was checked off Tobacco Leaf in the back straight.  Stella View eased on the third turn.  Stella View and Where's Lachie collided entering the home straight.  Tobacco Leaf and Dr. Mortikye collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Martinovic the representative for Stella View regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and on the third turn.  Stella View was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Stella View with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Martinovic pleaded not guilty to the charge, Stella View was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Give Me Wings.

Garrido and Give Me Wings were slow to begin.  Dr. Annie and Dr. Kestrel collided soon after the start checking Dr. Kestrel.  Ends Well clipped the heels of Rajasthan on the first turn.  Rajasthan galloped on Okay Kirsty on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dr. Kestrel raced wide on the second turn.  Rajasthan galloped on Okay Kirsty entering the back straight.  Rajasthan and Okay Kirsty collided on the third turn checking Okay Kirsty, Give Me Wings and Garrido.  Give Me Wings and Dr. Kestrel collided on the home turn.

Okay Kirsty was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Blocka Boy was slow to begin.  Aston Hinkley raced wide soon after the start.  Our Delta Rose and Blocka Boy collided on the first turn.  Dr. Leonardo, Cosmic Yessam and Tarika Tara collided on the first turn checking Cosmic Yessam.  Ruby's Image was checked off Aston Hinkley in the back straight.  Ruby's Image and Aston Hinkley collided entering the home straight checking Aston Hinkley.  Dr. Leonardo and Zinda Neveelk collided entering the home straight.  Blocka Boy cramped and lost ground in the home straight checking Tarika Tara.

Blocka Boy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound cramped and sustained a sand toe on the left hind foot, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Barnsley the trainer of the greyhound Blocka Boy.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (cramp) Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a satisfactory trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mrs. J. McMahon the representative for Haristotle declared a new weight of 31.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Haristotle last raced at 32.4kg.

Brandeen Bayley and Josie Rumble were slow to begin.  Lucas Rose and Canya Wilber collided on the first turn checking Canya Wilber, Canya Wilber galloped on Lucas Rose as a result.  Go Levi galloped on Lucas Rose on the first turn causing Canya Wilber to gallop on Go Levi severely checking both greyhounds, Coco Marlow was checked as a result.  Brandeen Bayley, Josie Rumble and Haristotle collided on the first turn.  Go Levi and Canya Wilber collided approaching the home turn.

Aston Marshall and Jimmy Vella were slow to begin.  Able Bess crossed in approaching the first turn checking Joe's Dolly, Dukestar, Aston Marshall and Jimmy Vella.  Aston Marshall and Jimmy Vella collided entering the back straight.  Aston Marshall raced wide on the second turn.  Able Bess and Jimmy Vella collided on the second turn.

Stewards spoke to representative for Cappuccino Mr. J. Nolan regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cappuccino last raced on 06/04/18.  Mr. Nolan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell and change of kennel.

A pre-race sample was taken from Trap Queen.

All About Arby, Cappuccino and Busta Voe collided soon after the start.  Destructo Rat, Omega Vera and Flip collided approaching the first turn checking Flip, All About Arby, Cappuccino and Trap Queen.  Omega Vera clipped the heels of Seaton Star on the first turn checking Omega Vera.  Trap Queen was checked off Busta Voe on the second turn.  Destructo Rat and Omega Vera collided several times approaching the home turn checking Destructo Rat.

Premier Jess and Merchant Prince were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Ear We Come crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Issy Keats, Snoop A Loop, Merchant Prince and Premier Jess and severely checking Hurunui Jack and Aston Halle.  Merchant Prince crossed to the rail on the second turn checking Issy Keats and Snoop A Loop.  Issy Keats and Snoop A Loop collided on the home turn.
