Steward's Report
Belcanto was quick to begin. Taabi, Hot Cruiser and She's Enough were slow to begin. Hot Cruiser checked off Jello Allen soon after the start. Dyna Bella and Jello Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Dyna Bella. Jello Allen and She's Enough collided on the first turn checking She's Enough and Hot Cruiser. Belcanto and Mayhem Magic collided approaching the home turn, on the home turn, entering the home straight and several times in the home straight. Jello Allen failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post.
Jello Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Courts and Mr. K. Lloyd, the trainer and representative of the greyhound Jello Allen regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), Stewards charged Jello Allen with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Courts pleaded not guilty to the charge. Jello Allen was found guilty and the greyhound was suspended for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mayhem Magic was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abraded left hind paw. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. M. Davis, the trainer of Mayhem Magic regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Mr Davis explained that it was his intention to take the greyhound coursing and undergo some re-education.
