Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Striving.
The Stewards declared this event a "No Race" In accordance with GAR 56.
Songs An Stories fell approaching the first turn and proceeding back in the opposite direction, towards the starting boxes for this race. In an effort to secure this greyhound during the race, the Starter moved down the home straight. Due to the inherent safety concerns of this practise, the lure driver ceased driving the lure at speed and pulled the lure up in the home straight, prior to reaching the vicinity of the Starter, to ensure a safe outcome.
Songs An Stories underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and bruising to the right foreleg below elbow. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards conducted a random public ballot to determine the 4 greyhounds to participate in the final on the 5/6/2019 in accordance with GAR 57(2)(b)
