Songs An Stories fell approaching the first turn and proceeding back in the opposite direction, towards the starting boxes for this race. In an effort to secure this greyhound during the race, the Starter moved down the home straight. Due to the inherent safety concerns of this practise, the lure driver ceased driving the lure at speed and pulled the lure up in the home straight, prior to reaching the vicinity of the Starter, to ensure a safe outcome. 

Songs An Stories underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury and bruising to the right foreleg below elbow. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards conducted a random public ballot to determine the 4 greyhounds to participate in the final on the 5/6/2019 in accordance with GAR 57(2)(b)

In accordance with GAR 57(2)(c) Paw Pilot was the 5th greyhound drawn out in the above mentioned ballot, making it the second reserve, number 10 for the final field.

A pre-race sample was taken from Flojo Mikado.

Forest Lodge was quick to begin.  Flojo Mikado was slow to begin.

Forest Lodge, Showing, Mindil Beach and Punk Lass Rocks collided approaching the first turn checking Forest Lodge.  Flojo Mikado and Mindil Beach collided on the first turn.  Punk Lass Rocks checked off Showing on the second turn.  Showing, Punk Lass Rocks and Darcon Raider collided on the third turn.  Showing and Punk Lass Rocks collided in the home straight.  

Navy Storm and Flash Logie were slow to begin.

Blackpool Floss and Buckle Up Leo collided approaching the first turn checking Buckle Up Leo which lost ground as a result.  Refresh and Why Not Leo collided on the first turn checking Refresh and Blackpool Doc.  Blackpool Doc and Blackpool Floss collided on the home turn.  

Buckle Up Leo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Rik Lee - Late scratching at 5:48pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr D. Langley was fined $100.

Flashy De Goey and Limerick Icon collided soon after the start.

Kiranna Blue and Miss Zok Dee were slow to begin. Stylish Missile, Class Edge and Kiranna Blue collided on the first turn checking Class Edge which raced wide as a result severely checking Kiranna Blue which fell. Flashy De Goey checked off Kiranna Blue approaching the home turn.  

Kiranna Blue underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury and bruising to the right metacarpal.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Poppy Yaala was quick to begin.  Zipping Navy was slow to begin.

Dewana Sprite – New declared weight of 32.5kgs, last raced at 31.1kgs.

Cataleya, Dewana Sprite and Rosta Power were quick to begin.

Buckle Up York was quick to begin.  Parumba Taylah and Roland View were slow to begin. 

Cheeky Cindy faltered soon after the start and subsequently tailed off.  Lucas Rose and Fiesty Girl collided on the first turn.  

Cheeky Cindy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.

The following greyhounds performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial – The trial took place over 311mtrs with 2 required to trial. The winning time of trial was18.80:

Aston Olivia finished 3rd, Solar Viper took no competitive part. 

Solar Viper– Was stood down from racing at Cranbourne for staying in the boxes. Weighing 28.0kgs and beginning from box 1. Solar Viper has not been cleared to race as the greyhound took no competitive part in the trial.

Aston Olivia – Was stood down from racing at Sale for fail to chase. Weighing 27.6kgs and beginning from box 2. Aston Olivia has not been cleared to race due to tailing off. Aston Olivia underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
