Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) Parade Steward, Mr J. Mullen did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Superior Kris, Mahjong Nickel and Agent Laylan were slow to begin.
Mahjong Nickel brushed the running rail on the first turn, checking Superior Kris which contacted the running rail as a result and lost ground. Agent Laylan eased and raced wide on the first turn. Agent Laylan raced wide in the home straight.
Superior Kris underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a minor left elbow laceration. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Agent Laylan underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have sustained a left back muscle injury and an abrasion to the right metacarpal, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Jason Hardy, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Agent Laylan was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hardy pleaded not guilty to the charge, Agent Laylan was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
