Steward's Report
Kraken Katie - Late scratching at 11.16 AM due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Clark, Trainer of Kraken Katie regarding the late scratching of the greyhound in today's event. Mr. Clark stated that as he was preparing Kraken Katie for racing he was made aware that the greyhound was in season and scratched the greyhound accordingly. Stewards noted his explanation.
Blue Shadows and Midnight Mystery collided soon after the start checking Midnight Mystery, Apex Within and Shining. Apex Within and Shining collided on the first turn checking Shining. Apex Within and Aston Atley collided approaching the second turn and again on the second turn checking Aston Atley. Midnight Mystery and Black Impala collided on the home turn. Blue Shadows and Aston Atley entering the home straight checking Blue Shadows.
Black Impala underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right deltoid muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Apex Within - the winner of the event.
Trainer Mr. V. Tullio was questioned regarding his conduct in the public dining area prior to Race 1. Evidence was taken from Mr. Tullio and Steward Mr. M. Blood before Stewards adjourned the enquiry to gather further evidence, including CCTV footage.
Supplementary Report: After considering the evidence in it's entirty, the matter was finalised without charge.
