Black Zambesi – Not raced for in excess of three months and is returning to racing from a spell.
What Bill galloped on Punt Road Girl on the first turn, checking What Bill, Black Zambesi and Saucy Sav; severely checking Punt Road Girl. What Bill and Broken Axle collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post.
Punt Road Girl underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg monkey muscle and left hindleg pencil/whip injuries. A seven day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Better Dream - the winner of the event.
