Chapta Lee and Solar Life were quick to begin.
Talanjee Chief, Tunnel Rat and Nimble Nala collided on the first turn, checking Talanjee Chief and Garbutt. Tunnel Rat, Nimble Nala and Kiwi Swagger collided approaching the home turn, checking Nimble Nala; causing Kiwi Swagger to fall, which checked Talanjee Chief and Garbutt.
Kiwi Swagger underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg wrist and right hindleg thigh injuries. A 10 stand down period was imposed.
Garbutt underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg triangle injury. A 10 stand down period was imposed.
