Steward's Report
This event was delayed by 7 mins due to a lure malfunction.
Brakae, Smokey Renn and Hope To Wyn were slow to begin.
Brakae and Distracted collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Zoe's Intention and Miss Bellawood collided soon after the start. Brakae and Distracted collided several times approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Smokey Renn galloped on Smarty Pants on the first turn checking Smokey Renn, Distracted and severely checking Smarty Pants which stumbled as a result. Gladiator checked off Zoe's Intention entering the back straight. Smokey Renn raced wide in the home straight.
Smarty Pants underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left stopper pad, right sesamoid and left back muscles injuries, abrasions to the left fore foot and stopper and a spike wounds to the scrotum and left hind foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Gladiator - winner of the event.
