Steward's Report
Cedar Opal clipped the heels of Mum's The Word on the first turn. Crymelon Victory and Cedar Opal collided approaching the home turn, checking Crymelon Victory. Mum's The Word raced wide on the home turn. Cedar Opal faltered on the home turn and was tailed off. Crymelon Victory eased in the home straight and was tailled off as a result.
Crymelon Victory underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg groin injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr David Gehan regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Crymelon Victory was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Gehan pleaded guilty to the charge, Crymelon Victory must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Cedar Opal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg stopper injury. A 60 stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Opening Bid - the winner of the event.
