Golden Sunrise was slow to begin. Point And Run and Atarah collided approaching the first turn, checking Point And Run. Sorenstam and Golden Sunrise collided on the first turn, checking Golden Sunrise. Point And Run checked off Golden Sunrise on the first turn. Aston Jewel and Knocker's Gold collided approaching the home turn; Knocker's Gold raced wide as a result. Atarah and Golden Sunrise collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight, checking Atarah.
