In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 29.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.0 degrees.

Crymelon You Cro and Callanish Sprite collided soon after the start, checking Callanish Sprite.  Crymelon You Cro, Crymelon Victory and Crymelon Sally collided on the first turn, checking Crymelon You Cro, Crymelon Victory and Sky Show.  Callanish Sprite and Sky Show collided on the first turn, checking Callanish Sprite.  Crymelon You Cro, Crymelon Victory and Whiter Shade collided on the first turn, checking Crymelon Victory.  Sky Show checked off Crymelon Victory approaching the home turn.  Crymelon You Cro and Whiter Shade collided entering the home straight.  Crymelon You Cro and Crymelon Victory collided in the home straight.  Whiter Shade visibly eased and turned it's head inwards and collided with Crymelon Sally in the home straight, checking Crymelon Sally.

Whiter Shade underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left front foot, a five day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr Craig Treherne regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Whiter Shade was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Treherne pleaded guilty to the charge, Whiter Shade must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Crymelon Sally underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Warrning issued for racing manners in the home straight.
