The outside temperature at race start time was 28.3 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.0 degrees.

Yuken Pay Me, Zanzeedoo and Moroka Assassin were slow to begin.

Coffee Scroll and Yuken Pay Me collided approaching the first turn checking Coffee Scroll.  Yuken Pay Me checked off Star Fever on the first turn.  Star Fever and Moroka Assassin collided on the first turn checking Star Fever.  Lava You Beauty galloped on Moroka Assassin approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Coffee Scroll and Zanzeedoo collided in the back straight checking Coffee Scroll.  Jetyra Buckskin galloped on Coffee Scroll in the back straight severely checking Jetyra Buckskin which stumbled.  Moroka Assassin checked off Star Fever on the third turn.  Zanzeedoo and Yuken Pay Me collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Zanzeedoo turned its head outwards towards Yuken Pay Me approaching the home turn and collided with that greyhound.

Stewards spoke to Mrs D. Carr, the trainer of Zanzeedoo regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Zanzeedoo was vetted and re-vetted following event 11.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left and right saddle soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Zanzeedoo with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs Carr pleaded guilty to the charge, Zanzeedoo was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Jetyra Buckskin was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a sore back, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
