Stewards monitored the kennel temperature prior to and during kennelling as the air conditioning system was not operational. Technicians rectified the issue immediately prior to race 1 with the kennel temperature soon after returning to the normal range for the Sandown kennels. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Aussie Bok Choy and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 1:16pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr J. Wickham was fined the sum of $100.

Aston Kenji and Mr. Fabulous were slow to begin.

Leprechaun Dance and Grace Intention collided soon after the start.  Leprechaun Dance and Grace Intention collided on the first turn.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Mepunga Wonder.

Heidi Intention was quick to begin.

Only Wish and Thistle Smoke collided soon after the start checking Only Wish.  Mepunga Wonder, Chillin and Itching To Go  collided approaching the first turn checking Chillin and Itching To Go.  Mepunga Wonder and Thistle Smoke collided entering the home straight.

Only Wish was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Mr V. Tullio was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers were produced for the greyhound Seducing pursuant to GAR 33.

A pre-race sample was taken from Seducing.

Spearhead was slow to begin.

Callinish Hana and Spearhead collided approaching the first turn.  Spearhead and Seducing collided on the first turn causing Spearhead to stumble.  Seducing faltered entering the back straight and pulled up.  Callinish Hana checked off Zoe's Intention on the home turn.

Seducing was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock fracture, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Completed.

Jetyra Buckskin was quick to begin.

It's A Diva, Dashing Dino and Zanzeedoo were slow to begin.

It's A Diva was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right calf muscle injury, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Sale Graze Bindi a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Pepper Shiraz was quick begin.  Romanova was slow to begin.

Soda Flakes and Sale Graze Bindi collided soon after the start.  Soda Flakes and Romanova collided approaching the first turn.  Whiney Whine and Midnight Mystery collided on the first turn.  Pepper Shiraz faltered entering the back straight and pulled up.  Romanova, Soda Flakes and Pepper Shiraz collided in the back straight checking Romanova.  Sale Graze Bindi visibly eased approaching the home turn.

Pepper Shiraz was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right fractured hock, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Miss M. Toner, the representative of the greyhound Sale Graze Bindi regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Sale Graze Bindi was vetted following race 10. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right chest muscle and abrasions to the right metatarsals, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Sale Graze Bindi with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Miss Toner pleaded not guilty to the charge, Sale Graze Bindi was found guilty. Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Deano's Smidge and Sisco Ride collided soon after the start.  Deano's Smidge, Sisco Ride and Over And Away colllided approaching the first turn checking Sisco Ride.  Over And Away checked off Deano's Smidge entering the front straight.  Sisco Ride and Over And Away collided on the second turn.  Samsonite faltered approaching the third turn and pulled up.  George's Fever raced wided in the back straight and again entering the home straight.  

Samsonite was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right factured hock, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

The track was inspected following the event and found suitable to continue racing.

A pre-race sample was taken from Reign Of Omar.

Scooby Boy, Reign Of Omar and Philo Bale were slow to begin.  Red Queen was quick to begin.

Scooby Boy and Reign Of Omar collided approaching the first turn. Reign Of Omar and Spazzy Blue collided entering the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Water Colour.

Little Big Shot and Water Colour collided soon after the start.  Modified Trunk, Sisco Dun, Sisco Bella, Little Big Shot and Riviera Cruz collided approaching the first turn.  Vixstar and Riviera Cruz collided on the third turn.  

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Bush Song engaged in this event on 14th January 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre-race sample was taken from Disgruntled.

Lava You Beauty was quick to begin.  Finniss Vision was slow to begin.

Milly's Coconut and Star Fever collided soon after the start checking Milly's Coconut.  Disgruntled and Eight Ball collided on the home turn.  

A pre-race sample was taken from Extreme Summer.

Extreme Summer was quick to begin.  Modern Jagger was slow to begin.

Lightwood Lass checked off Where's Lola approaching the second turn.  Where's Lola contacted the running rail on the second turn and lost ground.  

Where's Lola was vetted following the event.  It was reported the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and lacerations to the left hip, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Irinka Jenna.

Yuken Pay Me and Irinka Jenna collided soon after the start.  Midnight Marzy and Poison Gas collided entering the home straight.

Supplementary Report Healesville Race 8  20/1/2018

Mr A Paraskevas presented the greyhound Leica Cali King  for examination as requested GAR 23(3). As a result of the examination,  Stewards have requested Mr Paraskevas to provide further information regarding the greyhounds recent veterinary treatment for  the Stopper Bone injury.
