Jonathan's Rose, Ya Ya Ya and El Alegre were slow to begin. Ya Ya Ya checked off Is All soon after the start. Refresh checked off Is All approaching the first turn. Got The Double failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the first turn and again entering the home straight. Applied and Is All collided on the first turn checking Applied. Cloncurry Girl checked off Got The Double approaching the home turn. Ya Ya Ya and Cloncurry Girl collided approaching the home turn. Is All galloped on Got The Double approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Ya Ya Ya failed to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn checking El Alegre severely checking Is All, Cloncurry Girl, Ya Ya Ya, Jonathan's Rose and Applied and causing Is All and Cloncurry Girl to fall. Got The Double and El Alegre collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Tufo, the trainer of the greyhound Got The Double regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Got The Double was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Got The Double with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Tufo pleaded not guilty to the charge, Got The Double was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
