Steward's Report
Crowdza Starring was a late scratching at 1.42pm due to a metacarpal injury (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr B. Pursell and accepted his explanation.
Say Hi and Bobbie Cristalle collided soon after the start. Gin Lee's Dream and Dyna Bryleigh collided soon after the start. Mrs. Flintstone, Super Blu, Gin Lee's Dream and Dyna Bryleigh collided approaching the first turn causing Mrs Flintstone to check off Leprechaun Dance. Leprechaun Dance and Gin Lee's Dream collided approaching the first turn. Mrs. Flintstone and Super Blu collided approaching the second turn. Super Blu and Dyna Bryleigh collided on the second turn. Super Blu contacted the running rail entering the back straight and collided with Dyna Bryleigh as a result both greyhounds lost ground. Leprechaun Dance and Bobbie Cristalle collided on the third turn and again on the home turn.
Super Blu was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to both hind feet, spike wound to the right hind toe area and a right monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Say Hi - winner of the event.
