This meeting is deemed ''Hot Weather Affected". At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 30.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.8 degrees.
Kraken Jonny, Spot The Barman and Titanium Bolt collided approaching the first turn, checking Spot The Barman and Titanium Bolt. Miss Brew, Spot The Barman and Titanium Bolt collided on the first turn, checking Spot The Barman and Titanium Bolt. Miss Brew raced wide entering the home straight. Kraken Jonny marred Monrovia in the home straight. Kraken Jonny and Monrovia collided several times approaching the winning post.
Kraken Jonny was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. Helen Hartigan, the trainer of the greyhound Kraken Jonny, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Kraken Jonny with marring. Mrs. Hartigan pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Jonny was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
