Steward's Report
Ms Yvonne Carter, trainer of Smash Williams, declared a new weight of 31.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Smash Williams last raced at 30.0kg.
Shirdale Tom, Wild Vane and Smash Williams were slow to begin.
Lock Pepper and Remagen collided soon after the start. Remagen and Bud Moran collided at the 250m mark. Bud Moran eased at the 150m mark and collided with Smash Williams, losing ground as a result.
Bud Moran was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury and a revet was declined. Stewards spoke to Mr Tim Noy, the trainer of the greyhound Bud Moran, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners at the 150m mark. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Bud Moran with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Noy pleaded guilty to the charge, Bud Moran was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
