Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Van Oirschot, the trainer of Valhalla Girl regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Valhalla Girl last raced on 4th April 2018 and is returning to race after a spell.
Stealthy Flight was quick to begin. Valhalla Girl and Dark Stealth were slow to begin. Dark Stealth checked off Kip Moss approaching the first turn. Valhalla Girl contacted the running rail on the first turn checking Valhalla Girl. Valhalla Girl and Kip Moss collided approaching the home turn severely checking Valhalla Girl. Stealthy Flight and Temps Itch collided on the home turn and in the home straight checking Stealthy Flight.
Valhalla Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left triangle muscle. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards directed that a sample be taken from the greyhound, unplaced in this event.
Crystal Shell was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained right hind split webbing. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Dewana Be Sure, the winner of the event.
