Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Schofield, the trainer of Hot Fiasco, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hot Fiasco last raced on 28 March 2018 and is returning following a change of kennels.
Hot Fiasco was slow to begin. Talkback Caller and High Tale collided soon after the start. Fernando's Angel raced wide at the 300m mark and collided with Matesy's Girl. Emma's Not Happy checked off Go Shirvo Go at the 250m mark. Matesy's Girl and High Tale collided approaching the 200m mark, checking Matesy's Girl. Talkback Caller and High Tale collided at the 150m mark. Fernando's Angel marred the running of Chantilly Mack approaching the 50m mark. Talkback Caller and High Tale collided approaching the winning post.
Fernando's Angel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg pencil/whip injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Domenic Paterno, the trainer of the greyhound Fernando's Angel, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the 50m mark. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Fernando's Angel with marring. Mr Paterno pleaded guilty to the charge, Fernando's Angel was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Emma's Not Happy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right pectoral (chest) muscle and left quadriceps, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
