Steward's Report
Dukey Duke, Marez Bale, Black Canvas and Akina Ivy were slow to begin.
Big Baccala and Rock In Rio collided soon after the start. Dukey Duke and Marez Bale collided soon after the start. Black Canvas checked off Marez Bale approaching the first turn. Rock In Rio crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Dukey Duke and Marez Bale. Humble Inquiry, Queen Harriet and Big Baccala collided on the first turn checking Dukey Duke, Marez Bale and severely checking Queen Harriet and Big Baccala. Black Canvas and Marez Bale collided on the first turn. Humble Inquiry visible eased approaching the second turn checking Dukey Duke. Rock In Rio and Marez Bale collided approaching the second turn. Rock In Rio and Big Baccala collided on the third turn checking Big Baccala, Rock In Rio and Queen Harriet. Humble Inquiry checked off Marez Bale in the home straight. Big Baccala and Rock In Rio collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post checking Big Baccala.
Humble Inquiry underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4 and was found to have a left triangle, right biceps injuries and a spike wound to the right hind, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the representative Mr V. Inguanti, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Humble Inquiry was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Inguanti pleaded guilty to the charge, Humble Inquiry must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race blood sample was taken from Black Canvas - winner of the event.
