A pre-race urine sample was taken from Ruby Girl.

Lucas The Great stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin.  Why Not Peter, Stevie Dee and Kiss Me Razley were slow to begin.

Ruby Girl and Little Tubbsy collided soon after the start checking Little Tubbsy and Why Not Peter.  Kessler Bale, Ruby Girl and Little Tubbsy collided approaching the first turn.  Why Not Peter and Stevie Dee collided approaching the first turn.  Little Tubbsy crossed out approaching the second turn checking Why Not Peter, Stevie Dee and Kiss Me Razley.  Adori checked off Ruby Girl on the third turn.  Stevie Dee checked off Adori on the third turn.  Kiss Me Razley checked off Little Tubbsy on the home turn.  Adori and Stevie Dee collided in the home straight.  

Lucas The Great – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52. 

A post-race blood sample was taken from Kessler Bale - winner of the event.

Stewards opened an inquiry with Mr B Courts regarding his failure to catch the greyhounds Lucas The Great and Ruby Girl. Stewards took evidence from Mr G Crowcher, Mr E Hamilton, and Mr B Courts. Mr Courts pleaded guilty to a charge under GAR 86(o), in that he negligently failed to catch the greyhounds Lucas The Great and Ruby Girl after the trainers of both greyhounds paid Mr Courts to do so. Mr Courts pleaded guilty, was found guilty, and fined $200.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Cowcher, the trainer of Ruby Girl regarding a verbal altercation with Mr B. Courts following this event and issued him with a warning.
