A pre-race sample was taken from Prebble Keeping.
Bolta Neveelk was slow to begin.
Popowski and Prebble Keeping collided approaching the first turn. Nimble Lucy checked off Prebble Keeping on the first turn, also checking Popowski and Railway Burra. Railway Burra checked off Popowski in the back straight.
Railway Burra, which fell after the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left monkey muscle and left and right triangle muscles. A 14 day standdown period was imposed.
