Steward's Report
The licenses of all persons who caught greyhounds at tonight's race meeting were checked. All catchers were fully compliant and suitably licensed to undertake these duties.
A sample was taken from Star Fever at the Trainer’s kennel earlier today.
Divya Bale, Oshkosh Myles and Mepunga Daniel were slow to begin. Baby Eden and Submission collided soon after the start checking Submission. Swift Current and Baby Eden collided approaching the first turn. Submission, Divya Bale and Oshkosh Myles collided approaching the first turn checking Divya Bale and Oshkosh Myles. Divya Bale and Oshkosh Myles collided on the first turn checking Oshkosh Myles. Divya Bale, Oshkosh Myles and Mepunga Daniel collided approaching the second turn, severely checking Mepunga Daniel and Oshkosh Myles. Mepunga Daniel and Oshkosh Myles collided entering the back straight checking Mepunga Daniel.
Mepunga Daniel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and right hamstrings, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Mister Harlewood, the winner of the event.
The handler of Divya Bale, Mr Alfred Vella was fined $100 under GAR 46(2) for failing to arrive at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve this greyhound for racing.
