Steward's Report
Mrs A Dailly was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Divya Bale pursuant to GAR 33.
Mepunga Remi and Lektra Perry collided soon after the start. Hardaway Jayjay crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Yakima, Divya Bale and Star Reiko. Adori and Star Reiko collided on the first turn. Divya Bale and Star Reiko collided on the first turn checking Star Reiko. Yakima brushed the running rail approaching the second turn. Lektra Perry checked off Mepunga Remi on the third turn. Mepunga Remi eased in the home straight and collided with Hardaway Jayjay.
Mepunga Remi underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 9 and was found to have injuries to the left monkey, shoulder and chest muscles, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr C. Capuano, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Mepunga Remi was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Capuano pleaded guilty to the charge, Mepunga Remi must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
