Track Manager, Mr Justin Brilliant advised that the track had been deep harrowed, graded and top dressed on Saturday, 23 March 2019.

This meeting was deemed ‘hot weather affected’, prior to the running of this event the outside temperature was 33.9 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.6 degrees.

Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr Ian Bibby regarding the scratching of Crymelon Sally, when Mr Bibby had two other greyhounds engaged in the event.  Mr Bibby stated that Crymelon Sally was scratched due to a wrist abrasion.  Stewards directed Mr Bibby to provide a veterinary certificate prior to the greyhound racing again.

Culloden Chief was quick to begin.  Special Black and Blackpool Ace collided soon after the start.  Culloden Chief checked off Someone Blue on the first turn, checking Blackpool Ace, Crymelon Victory and Special Black.  Crymelon You Cro and Someone Blue collided in the home straight, checking Crymelon You Cro.  Crymelon Victory checked off Special Black in the home straight.

Mr Raymond Henness was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers were produced for the greyhound Pictor Lucy pursuant to GAR 33.

Too Easy Jack was slow to begin.  I'm Easy Boys and Crackerjack Soc collided soon after the start.  Dusty Collision and Pictor Lucy collided soon after the start.  All Inn Christy and I'm Easy Boys collided approaching the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Crackerjack Soc checked off Pictor Lucy on the first turn, checking Too Easy Jack and Dusty Collision.  Crackerjack Soc and Too Easy Jack collided in the home straight.  Crackerjack Soc, I'm Easy Boys and Pictor Lucy collided approaching the winning post, checking Pictor Lucy.

Stewards spoke to Mr Shayne Fisher, the handler of Dewana No Secret, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Dewana No Secret last raced on 31 October 2018.  Mr Fisher stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being seasonal.

Monrovia was quick to begin.  Garbutt and Time Saver collided soon after the start.  Monrovia and Hornet Hudson collided approaching the first turn.  Garbutt checked off Time Saver on the first turn, checking Dewana No Secret.  Hornet Hudson, Crymelon Tess and Mayhem Dream collided on the first turn, checking Mayhem Dream, Crymelon Tess and Garbutt.  Garbutt and Crymelon Tess collided approaching the home turn.  Time Saver and Hornet Hudson collided entering the home straight.

Crakalakin Caity was quick to begin.  Spring Classic, Jacobite Hammer and Classy Fernando were slow to begin.  Spring Classic and Moraine Coco collided approaching the first turn.  Neil's Girl and King Lorrimer collided on the first turn.  Moraine Coco and Jacobite Hammer collided on the home turn.  Spring Classic checked off Classy Fernando approaching the home turn, and again on the home turn.  Classy Fernando failed to chase the lure with due committment in the home straight and collided with Neil's Girl.

Classy Fernando was vetted and after being re-vetted following event six.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Moncrieff, the trainer of the greyhound Classy Fernando, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Classy Fernando with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Moncrieff pleaded guilty to the charge, Classy Fernando was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Luca's Entity was a late scratching at 1:52 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to mild dehydration.  A seven day stand down period was imposed.

Maximum Tiff was quick to begin.  Stevie Jane, Zipping Winnie and Bobby Ray collided soon after the start.  Stevie Jane and Zipping Winnie collided approaching the first turn.  Zipping Winnie, Pure Profit and Whitehart Magic collided on the first turn, checking Pure Profit and Hollywood Donuts.  Zipping Winnie and Stevie Jane collided on the first turn.

Billy Moran, Big Casey and Cloud Cover were quick to begin.  Big Casey and Billy Moran collided soon after the start.  Nitro Value and All Bling collided soon after the start.  Cloud Cover and Go Ekay collided approaching the first turn.  Ninetymile Donny, Cloud Cover, Nitro Value and All Bling collided on the first turn, checking Cloud Cover, Nitro Value, Go Ekay and Spinning Jakit.  Ninetymile Donny checked off All Bling approaching the home turn.  Ninetymile Donny and Go Ekay collided entering the home straight.

Ninetymile Donny, which performed below market expectations, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hindleg back muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Tye Me Over and Solar On collided soon after the start.  Tye Me Over, Solar On and Fast Trapper collided approaching the first turn, checking Solar On.  Half A Minya and Speed Star collided approaching the first turn.  Speed Star and Dewana Sprite collided on the first turn.

Just Nimble It and Orazzi Ohh were slow to begin.  Jacobite Joseph was very slow to begin (3L).  Big Sam Marjen raced wide approaching the first turn.  Jacobite Joseph galloped on the heels of Orazzi Ohh on the first turn.

On arrival at the catching pen, it was noted that the muzzle of Jacobite Joseph had become wedged in the in the greyhound's mouth.
