Mini Fernando checked off Dream Gem soon after the start. Tyche Diamond and Spolly James collided soon after the start. Valhalla Girl and Lucy Gem collided approaching the first turn. Valhalla Girl, Tyche Diamond, Lucy Gem and White Line Lass collided on the first turn checking Lucy Gem severely checking Tyche Diamond; Tyche Diamond and Mini Fernando collided as a result. Valhalla Girl, White Line Lass and Spolly James collided approaching the home turn checking Valhalla Girl and White Line Lass. Valhalla Girl checked off Spolly James approaching the home turn. Tyche Diamond checked off Lucy Gem entering the home straight. Molly Spolly and Dream Gem collided in the home straight. Lucy Gem and Mini Fernando collided in the home straight. Dream Gem failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Russell, the representative of the greyhound Dream Gem regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Dream Gem was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left triangle muscle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dream Gem with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Russell pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dream Gem was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
