Steward's Report

Miss Vermeer was very slow to begin (3L).

Miss Terindah, Tasvilla, Black Ice and Punt Road Girl collided on the first turn checking Tasvilla and Punt Road Girl and severely checking Black Ice. Sacre Bleu and Outrage collided on the second turn. Tasvilla and Miss Vermeer collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds. Miss Vermeer contacted the running rail on the second turn, checking Black Ice. Miss Vermeer fell as a result. Punt Road Girl raced wide on the home turn and entering the home straight. Miss Terindah and Outrage collided in the home straight. Fabrebab failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.

Miss Vermeer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left radius/ulna fracture and a laceration to the left leg. A stand down period of 60 days was imposed.

Fabrebab was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the rightshoulder, left fan muscle and both groin muscles. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.

A sample was taken from 2nd placegetter, Miss Terindah.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Debattista, the trainer of the greyhound Fabrebab regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Fabrebab with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Debattista pleaded guilty to the charge, Fabrebab was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
