Heavy Fuel checked off Brakae approaching the first turn.  Heavy Fuel raced wide on the first turn.  Matilda Mikado checked off Brakae approaching the home turn.  Parumba Ned and Meraki collided entering the home straight.  Brakae checked off Meraki in the home straight. 

Brakae was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury. 

Stewards issued a warning to Mr D. Willcocks, the trainer of Brakae regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn.

A post-race sample was taken from Parumba Ned - winner of the event.

Stewards charged Mr Greg Minne with a breach of GAR 46(2) in that he failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound Heavy Fuel for this event. Mr Minne stated that he had no excuse for his tardiness, and he had simply lost track of time, and pleaded guilty to the charge. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that Mr Minne had arrived 10 mins prior to the advertised start time, his poor recent record relating to this rule, his cooperation with the inquiry and his honesty; Mr Minne was subsequently fined the sum of $150.00. 

Breakaway Bandit was slow to begin.

Breakaway Bandit, Muza's Angel and What A Chancer collided soon after the start checking Muza's Angel.  Breakaway Bandit and What A Chancer collided on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds causing Breakaway Bandit to fall.  

Breakaway Bandit was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

What A Chancer was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Chillin was quick to begin.  Dewana Help Me was slow to begin.

Dewana Help Me and Santana collided approaching the first turn checking Santana.  Bruno He Mikado raced wide on the first turn.  Bruno He Mikado and Santana collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  

Post-race samples were taken from placegetters - Dewana Help Me (1st) and Chillin (2nd).

Stewards conducted a check of catcher’s licences in this event and all were compliant, except for licensed persons Mrs M. Lieshout the catcher of Dewana Help Me and Mr P. Jones catcher of Bruno He Mikado, both catchers were issued a warning for failing to produce their license when requested by Stewards (LRR 16.2) 

Aeroplane Bella was a late scratching at 6:23pm due to non-arrival (GAR 31).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr R. Cameron was fined the sum of $100.

Stewards spoke to Mr W. Green, the trainer of Hahn Road regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hahn Road last raced on 6th October 2018 and is returning from a seasonal break and change of kennels. 

Navy Storm was slow to begin.

Navy Storm, Husky Hoofs, Dan's Hopeful and Parumba Taylah collided soon after the start.  Hahn Road and Navy Storm collided approaching the first turn causing Hahn Road to contact the running rail and loose considerable ground.  Husky Hoofs and Parumba Taylah collided on the first turn severely checking Navy Storm, Husky Hoofs and Parumba Taylah, causing Navy Storm to gallop on Parumba Taylah which lost ground.  Roger That and Zipping Brynn collided on the first turn checking Roger That.  

Hahn Road was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left and right metatarsal, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Parumba Taylah was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right groin injury and an abrasion to the right metatarsal and left stopper, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Dyna Winter and White Cynder were quick to begin.  Latinize was slow to begin.

Lochinvar Adore and Latinize collided soon after the start checking Lochinvar Adore.

The Judge inadvertently semaphored the numbers 1(1st) and a dead heat between 2 and 4 for 2nd which was incorrect. This was unable to be corrected on the semaphore board, the correct numbers were relayed to the broadcaster as 1(1st), 2(2nd) and a dead heat for (3rd) between 3 and 4, before the All Clear was given. 

Conde and Romany Girl were quick to begin.  Bolta Neveelk and Psychedelic Jay were slow to begin.

Whiney Whine and Dyna Kara collided approaching the first turn checking Whiney Whine.  Whiney Whine and Psychedelic Jay collided on the first turn checking Whiney Whine.  Whiney Whine checked off Psychedelic Jay approaching the second turn.  Bolta Neveelk and Dyna Kara collided in the back straight.

Cosmic Collinda and Dewana Special collided approaching the first turn checking Dewana Special and Light The Track.  Bold galloped on Dewana Special on the first turn.  Cosmic Collinda lost ground on the third turn.  Doc's Reward checked off Blunderbuss entering the home straight.  

Cosmic Collinda was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left triangle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Pacific Dreamer was a late scratching at 6:19pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to left hind toe fracture. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. I Anderson the trainer of Pacific Dreamer with regards to the late scratching of his greyhound and reminded him of his reasonability’s to comply with GAR 23(1)(a); that on the day of an Event prior to the appointed scratching time, or where the appointed scratching time is other than the day of the Event then prior to that time, examine such greyhound to ensure that it is free of injury, illness or not in season.

Stewards spoke to Mrs A. Ashworth, the trainer of Seaton Star regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Seaton Star last raced on 5th October 2018 and is returning from a spell.

Miss Pie and Annaley Rooka were slow to begin.

Seaton Star and Miss Dozer collided soon after the start checking Miss Dozer.  Annaley Rooka crossed in on the first turn checking Seaton Star, Beluga Diamond and Miss Pie.  Miss Pie and Miss Dozer collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Pie.

Galloping Leo was quick to begin.  Don't Trust was slow to begin.

Dynamic Rainbow crossed out approaching the first turn checking Woodleigh Blue.  Don't Trust and Deano's Smidge collided on the first turn checking Don't Trust and Woodleigh Blue.  Deano's Smidge galloped on Fairy Vixen in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds and causing Fairy Vixen to fall.  

Fairy Vixen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left thigh injury and an abrasion to the right metatarsal, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Polo Pete and Emma Lakers collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Polo Pete checked off Emma Lakers on the first turn.  Blackpool Funk checked off Red Queen on the first turn.  Maggie Mikado raced wide on the first turn.  Mahjong Magic failed to pursue the lure with due commitment on the home turn and entering the home straight causing Mahjong Magic, Gappy Hillmore and Maggie Mikado to race wide.  Polo Pete raced wide entering the home straight. Emma Lakers crossed to the outside entering the home straight.  Mahjong Magic and Gappy Hillmore collided approaching the winning post.

Mahjong Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr L. Harris, the representative of the greyhound Mahjong Magic regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Mahjong Magic with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Harris pleaded not guilty to the charge, Mahjong Magic was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Emma Lakers was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards issued a warning to Mr J. Galea, the trainer of Emma Lakers regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the home straight and, in the home, straight.

Porscha's Girl was quick to begin.  Trap Queen, Tron's Empire and Scooby Boy were slow to begin.

Standing Bear and Why Not Leo collided soon after the start checking Standing Bear.  Why Not Leo checked off Porscha's Girl on the first turn causing Chloe Crumpet to race wide.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Flashy De Goey trialled over the 311mtrs from box 3, weight 27.5kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.05, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8 lengths. Flashy De Goey was very slow to begin (5 lengths) and Not Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr L. Weeks, the trainer of Max Cobra regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Max Cobra last raced on1 November 2018 and is returning from a spell and change of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Max Cobra trialled over the 311mtrs from box 6, weight 35.3kgs, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 18.05, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1/2 length. Max Cobra was Cleared.
