Heat Affected meeting:

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed 'Hot Weather Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.3 degrees. 

The outside temperature at race start time was 27.6 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.0 degrees. 

Whynot Patrick was slow to begin.  Culloden Chief and Our Airman collided soon after the start, checking Culloden Chief.  Culloden Chief checked off Our Airman approaching the first turn.  Callinish Hana and Our Airman collided on the first turn, checking Our Airman.  Our Airman and Crymelon You Cro collided approaching the home turn, checking Our Airman.  Culloden Chief and Our Airman collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Callinish Hana checked off Whynot Patrick in the home straight.

Chiquita Lass was quick to begin.  Talkback Caller and Why Not Kaleb collided soon after the start, checking Talkback Caller.  Special Black and Barooga Mac collided approaching the first turn.  Callanish Sprite checked off Why Not Kaleb on the first turn, checking Barooga Mac.  Talkback Caller checked off Barooga Mac approaching the home turn.

Stewards delayed 'all clear' for this event due to a technical issue with the semaphore board displaying race two.  Stewards notified Tabcorp prior to giving 'all clear'.

Dyna Nelly, Jacobite Hammer and Hurricane Rose collided soon after the start, checking Dyna Nelly and Jacobite Hammer.  Positive Gearing and Moraine Coco collided approaching the first turn, checking Moraine Coco and Neil's Girl. Greg's Choice, Positive Gearing and Hurricane Rose collided on the first turn, checking Hurricane Rose, Positive Gearing and Neil's Girl.  Hurricane Rose and Neil's Girl collided approaching the home turn, checking Neil's Girl.  Greg's Choice and Jacobite Hammer collided approaching the winning post.

Dyna Nelly was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg shoulder joint injury, a three day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Ms Andrea Gurry and acting under GAR 75 (1) Ms Gurry was advised to the report to the Stewards as soon as practical anything that might have affected the running of Dyna Nelly which was not noted by the Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Blockette and Eddie were quick to begin.  Super Blu, Ballistic Yaala and Ashby Nimble collided soon after the start, checking Ballistic Yaala and Ashby Nimble.  Ballistic Yaala, Blockette and Ashby Nimble collided on the first turn, causing Ashby Nimble and Our Rock Man to fall.

Ashby Nimble was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Dragonstone was quick to begin.  Tye Me Chopper and Kid Ringo collided soon after the start.  Ominous Warning, Lektra Guiseppe and Kid Ringo collided approaching the home turn.  Kid Ringo faltered and pulled up approaching the home turn, checking Tye Me Chopper.

Tye Me Chopper was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Kid Ringo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg hock injury, and was humanely euthanased.

Why Not Grace was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg shoulder joint injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr Garry George, the trainer of Shark Tank, regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.

Allen Unther was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg wrist injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
