In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed 'Hot Weather Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.3 degrees.
The outside temperature at race start time was 27.6 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.0 degrees.
Whynot Patrick was slow to begin. Culloden Chief and Our Airman collided soon after the start, checking Culloden Chief. Culloden Chief checked off Our Airman approaching the first turn. Callinish Hana and Our Airman collided on the first turn, checking Our Airman. Our Airman and Crymelon You Cro collided approaching the home turn, checking Our Airman.
