Stewards spoke to Mr G. Campbell, the trainer of Earth Angel regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Earth Angel last raced on 24.10.18. Mr Campbell stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a seasonal spell.

Due to technical issues with the timing system the start of this event was delayed by approximately 8 minutes and subsequent events were put back a race from the original. As a result no split time was available for this race.

Earth Angel and Tiara Jo were slow to begin. All Inn Jye went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (2L).

Earth Angel and Crash Landing collided soon after the start. Hopeful checked off Smurf at the 250m mark. Earth Angel and Tiara Jo collided at the 150m mark.

This event was rescheduled to start at 12.10pm. Due to technical issues no split time was available for this event.

Superior Hunter was slow to begin.

Racecourse Road and Ruby's Rosa collided approaching the 250m mark. Lost Horizon and Johnny Dunbar collided at the 250m mark and again on several occasions to the 100m mark checking Lost Horizon. Lost Horizon checked off Johnny Dunbar at the 250m mark in turn checking Superior Hunter and Johnny Dunbar.

Lost Horizon was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr C. Russell, the trainer of Tomac Buzzard regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Tomac Buzzard last raced on 2.11.18. Mr Russell stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right wrist injury.

This event was rescheduled to start at 12.29pm.

Blonde Bella went up with the box lids and was slow to begin.

Sudden Call and Soda Geoff collided approaching the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark. Blonde Bella and Janray Tigerlily collided approaching the 150m mark checking Blonde Bella.

Tomac Buzzard was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right wrist injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Whitford, the trainer of Ninetymile Lenny regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Ninetymile Lenny last raced 5.10.18. Mr Whitford stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right hind toe dislocation.

Prior to the start of this event, there was a power outage from the on-course generator.  As a result, Stewards directed all greyhounds engaged in this race be returned to the kennel block.  Following consultation with Club Manager - Ms C O'Brien and Track Manager - Mr M Grima, Stewards had concerns regarding the dependability of the generator and power outages across the Healesville district and declared an indefinite delay to allow a professional opinion as to the reliability of the generator.  Following further consultation with GRV and a check of the lure, boxes and Judging equipment, Stewards further rescheduled the meeting as follows:

Under the supervision of the On-Track Veterinarian, Club Management and staff, Trainers engaged in Races 10 to 12 inclusive were afforded the opportunity to empty their greyhounds and re-kennel due to the lengthy delay of of the re-appointed times for their respective races.

She's A Rebel and Lektra Elsa were slow to begin.

Bruree Girl and Lektra Elsa collided soon after the start. Annaley Rooka and Calabrese Bullet collided soon after the start. She's A Rebel checked off Calabrese Bullet at the 250m mark. Superior Uno checked off Annaley Rooka at the 50m mark.

This event was rescheduled to start at 2.22pm.

A pre race sample was taken from Just Talking.

Jaggered Stone was slow to begin. 

It Is Done and Larrikan Bozzie collided soon after the start. Jaggered Stone crossed out at the 300m mark and collided with It Is Done checking It Is Done. Just Talking and Octo Flash collided at the 300m mark. Travel Easy and Octo Flash collided at the 150m mark. It Is Done checked off Jaggered Stone at the 50m mark. Travel Easy checked off It Is Done approaching the winning post.

Bring The Spring was a late scratching at 10.57am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an elevated temperature. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

This event was rescheduled to start at 2.42pm.

Mrs. Jawa was slow to begin.

Mrs. Jawa and Miss Booming collided soon after the start. Monaro Joe and Great Success collided soon after the start and again at the 300m and 250m marks.

Mrs. Jawa was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

This event was rescheduled to start at 3.02pm.

Lightning Parade was quick to begin. Samba King and Don't Trust were slow to begin.

Love Laughing and Booming Zulus collided soon after the start. Sweet Strike and Samba King collided soon after the start. Love Laughing and Booming Zulus collided at the 200m mark. Don's Machine checked off Love Laughing at the 150m mark. Sweet Strike and Don's Machine collided at the 150m mark. 

This event was rescheduled to start at 3.17pm.  Stewards were subsequently contacted by Sky Channel requesting the start time of this race commence at 3.18pm to avoid a clash with Tokyo gallops.  Stewards complied with this request.

Big Gee Tee and Primrose Diamond were quick to begin. Murrabit Benny was slow to begin.

Vintage Storm checked off Big Gee Tee soon after the start. Osti's Sprite, Aston Jewel and Buddy Blinx collided approaching the 300m mark.

Osti's Sprite was vetted following the event at the trainers request.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained dislocated toe on the right hindleg, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

This event was rescheduled to start at 3.32pm.

Zade's Magic and Blackpool Remi collided at the 200m mark. Our Flying Kenny, Zade's Magic and Blackpool Remi collided at the 150m mark. Subscapularis and Zade's Magic collided at the 100m mark. Our Flying Kenny and Mother Monster collided at the 100m mark. Blackpool Remi checked off Mother Monster at the 50m mark checking Pinciotti. Zade's Magic and Blackpool Remi collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr K. Sweeney, the trainer of Blackjack's Back regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Blackjack's Back last raced on 9.9.18. Mr Sweeney stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right hock injury.

This event was rescheduled to start at 3.47pm.

Bugs Baloney and Hit 'N' Split collided soon after the start. Fabstar and Blackjack's Back collided soon after the start checking Alouette Jack.  Blackjack's Back and Hit 'N' Split collided several times soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Blackjack's Back checked off Bugs Baloney at the 250m mark. Hit 'N' Split and Blackjack's Back collided several times from the 200m mark to the 100m mark checking Hit 'N' Split. Fabstar and Blackhawk Parker collided at the 200m mark. Mr. Diaz and Yenderra Blue collided at the 100m mark.

This event was rescheduled to start at 4.02pm.

Tinker Bess and All Inn Youi collided soon after the start. All Inn Youi and Ninetymile Hawk collided soon after the start. Agent Osti and Tinker Bess collided approaching the 250m mark. Ninetymile Hawk checked off Blazin' Ruby approaching the 150m mark. Agent Osti and Tinker Bess collided at the 100m.

All Inn Youi was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Ms M. Shaw, trainer of Hardaway Outlaw declared a new weight of 30.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hardaway Outlaw last raced at 29.4kgs.

This event was rescheduled to start at 4.17pm.

Hardaway Outlaw checked off Little Pookie soon after the start. Spring Ace and Perfect Rider collided at the 200m mark.

Woofa Combo was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Meeting Comments

Due to a power outage at this meeting the generator was activated.

Stewards reminded licencensed trainer Mr T. Cortese of his responsibilities to ensure that his greyhounds are muzzled at all times.
