Mr Craig Elliot, trainer of Primo Beso declared a new weight of 26.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Primo Beso last raced at 25.2kg.

Due to the late arrival to the boxes, this race was moved to Sky 2.

Prue Lace and Classy Fernando were quick to begin. Cheeky Chimp and Ballistic Lass collided soon after the start severely checking Ballistic Lass. Cheeky Chimp and Primo Beso collided approaching the first turn. Elsa Victorem contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and lost ground as a result. Cheeky Chimp and Primo Beso collided on the home turn. Aston Talks raced wide entering the home straight and in the home straight. Cheeky Chimp and Primo Beso collided in the home straight.

Elsa Victorem was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the left monkey and the left lumbar muscle, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr P Akathiotis, the trainer of Classy Aussie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Classy Aussie last raced on the 13th June. Mr P Akathiotis stated that the greyhound is resuming racing after a left pectoral injury.

Ebby's Plan and Treble Clef collided soon after the start checking Treble Clef. Unorganised Kaos and Blockette collided approaching the first turn. Catfish Fozz and Jimary Moneybags collided on the first turn. Unorganised Kaos, Blockette and Anna Victorem collided on the first turn checking Blockette which collided with Classy Aussie, severely checking Ebby's Plan and Treble Clef causing Classy Aussie to fall. Treble Clef and Blockette collided entering the home straight. Blockette and Ebby's Plan collided approaching the winning post.

Classy Aussie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder and left lumber muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Still Single was slow to begin. Off The Bit and Our Magic Turbo collided soon after the start checking Off The Bit. Miss Heart and Aston Aniston collided on the first turn. Off The Bit, Eadie Gee, Miss Heart and Aston Aniston collided approaching the second turn. Off The Bit and Aston Aniston collided on the second turn. Fancy Moon and Eadie Gee collided on the second turn checking Eadie Gee. Eadie Gee clipped the heels of Fancy Moon on the home turn. Ace's Fab and Eadie Gee collided entering the home straight. Eadie Gee raced wide on the home straight.

Setting Moon and Zipping Spud were slow to begin. Shultz's A Rebel and Crymelon Rip collided approaching the first turn. Setting Moon faded approaching the first turn and lost ground. Shultz's A Rebel, Crymelon Rip and Zipping Spud collided on the first turn checking Zipping Spud and Crymelon Rip.

Setting Moon was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a grade 2 left triangle tear, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

John's Last, Dragonstone and Kiwi Collision collided soon after the start. Crook Me Kindly, John's Last, Dragonstone and Kiwi Collision collided on the first turn checking Dragonstone. John's Last and Crook Me Kindly collided approaching the home turn checking Crook Me Kindly. Mepunga Billy and Crook Me Kindly collided on the home turn checking Crook Me Kindly. Zipping Riot and John's Last collided entering the home straight. Dragonstone and Crook Me Kindly collided in the home straight.

A pre race sample was taken from Merc.

Merc was quick to begin. Nareen, Lochinvar Deus, Undeniably and Dynamic Street collided on the first turn checking Nareen. Aston Lagonda and Orleans collided on the second turn checking Orleans. Aston Lagonda and Lochinvar Deus collided on the home turn checking Orleans. Nareen and Orleans collided entering the home straight and in the home straight. Undeniably and Merc collided in the home straight and approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to the trainer Mr C Mclennan regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Dynamic Street. Stewards directed that Dynamic Street be boxed first in future events.

Living Daylights was slow to begin. Golden Shiraz and Rocket Strike collided on the first turn checking Golden Shiraz. Flash Fernando, Aston Ranza, Weetbix Jester and Golden Shiraz collided approaching the second turn. Golden Shiraz and Living Daylights collided approaching the second turn. Living Daylight galloped on the heels of Weetbix Jester on the second turn checking Living Daylights. Rocket Strike galloped on the heels of Flash Fernando approaching the home turn checking Rocket Strike.

A sample was taken from Black Opium - the winner of the event.

A pre race sample was taken from Beanbag.

Vanda Mick and Quick Step collided on the first turn. Quartz Vein, Cadalora, Gone Rusty and Alezan collided on the first turn checking Gone Rusty. Quick Step and Cadalora collided on the second turn checking Quick Step which lost ground as a result. Quick Step and Beanbag collided on the home turn. Barry Bomber raced wide in the home straight. Quick Step and Beanbag collided in the home straight.

Gone Rusty was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a Grade 1-2 monkey muscle injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr Ken Hunt, trainer of Militant Spirit declared a new weight of 28.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Militant Spirit last raced at 26.7kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr D Trewin, the trainer of Paxton Bale regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Paxton Bale last raced on the 2nd June. Mr D Trewin stated that  Mr D Trewin stated that the greyhound is resuming racing after a right back sesamoid injury.

Golden Sunrise was slow to begin. Dream Boulevard and Quest Allen collided approaching the home turn and on the home turn.

Cosmic Moments and Hannibal Spectre collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn. Tat James and Cosmic Moments collided approaching the first turn. Hannibal Spectre and Tat James collided on the first turn. Cosmic Moments and Cinnamon Rose collided on the first turn. Tat James and Set Point collided on the home turn checking Set Point. Cinnamon Rose clipped the heels of Hannibal Spectre on the home turn. Scott It galloped on the heels of Nebi in the home straight. Tat James and Hannibal Spectre collided in the home straight.

 Set Point was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a superfical laceration to the inside left hock, no stand down period was imposed.

Our Turgo Girl was a late scratching at 8:55am due to a laceration (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre race sample was taken from River Crossing.

Daytona Fernando was slow to begin. Chrissy Pee, Daytona Fernando and River Crossing collided approaching the first turn. Tyson's A Rebel and Paua Te Kuri collided on the first turn. Paua Te Kuri, Chrissy Pee and River Crossing collided approaching the home turn checking River Crossing severely checking Chrissy Pee. Tyson's A Rebel and Cherokee Shimmer collided entering the home straight.

The Judge inadvertently semaphored 4-3-5-6 prior to the all clear given, the placings were corrected to 4-3-6-5.
