Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Miss Gypsy Lee. Miss Gypsy Lee and Cosmic Spur collided soon after the start. Sazoo Icon, All Inn Hunter and All Inn Roselee collided approaching the first turn checking All Inn Hunter and All Inn Roselee. All Inn Hunter, All Inn Roselee, Swift Spur, Miss Gypsy Lee and All Inn Tara collided on the first turn checking All Inn Roselee and All Inn Hunter. All Inn Hunter raced wide in the home straight. Lektra Blicavs lost ground approaching the winning post. Miss Gypsy Lee and All Inn Tara collided approaching the winning post.
Lektra Blicavs was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising over the right shoulder and an abrasion to the muzzle. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. J. Willoughby, the representative of Lektra Blicavs regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Mr. Willoughby stated that the greyhound became tired at the concluding stages of the event and, that it was his belief that the greyhound may have a more significant injury than was found following the event once the greyhound has cooled down. Stewards noted Mr. Willoughby's explanation, and acting under GAR 75 Stewards directed Mr. Willoughby should notify them of anything further that may arise and have had a bearing on the running of the greyhound in this event.
